Drawing ponies and people was the most natural thing in the world for me as a child, having inherited a natural artistic ability and also adoring all things equestrian. I rode my own ponies and horses, hunted and competed until the age of 25. I was fortunate to find an art school where, for four years, I could immerse myself in learning the good old fashioned skills of draughtsmanship, anatomy, perspective and composition. I also spent a year travelling the world and filled sketch books with drawings of an endlessly fascinating subject, people.
I am based in Gloucestershire and work from a studio near Nailsworth, Stroud. Since 1990 I have been working as a portrait artist specialising in people, horses and dogs. All my work is to commission. My work now hangs in houses all over the country and my name spreads through word of mouth. I also exhibit annually at Badminton Horse Trials, Gloucestershire, held in May.
